china trip i can say that the trip to china was going to be something unforgetable. the weather was on average 4 degree culsius and there i was without bringing any gloves, scarf, heat pack or woolen socks. i was down with sore throat and cough but i survived because of THEM. the 24 of us were selected for the 10 day trip from diff classes but i can say that we stayed close this few days. there were really really nice to me!! thx to so many of them who lend me all the stuff i need. ha..no wonder they say i cant take care of myself ;) Day 1: 6 degree the plane took off at 4.50pm and we reached beijing at 10.35pm..cold wind awaited us. Hoooo.. everything is like enlarged over there. the advertisement, shopping malls..their bus stop was 5 times ours!! Day 2: a lot of sight-seeing..to tian an men, forbidden city.. Day 3: we went to capital normal university high school for lessons observation. i can say that their students are indeed much more responsive in class. they are not afraid of speaking up LOUD. but their volume can scare ppl sometimes. we have to behave ourself because afterall, the high school is the top school in china. Day 4: beijing duck for dinner. i still prefer s'pore ones. everyone went a bit home sick. Day 5: we went visiting at tsinghua university and doze off during the forum. Party at yann ming n joey's room..we chat till 4 plus midnight n jus slp on the floor.Oops.. Day 6: i was down with sore throat. today's visit was to capital normal uni..i can only say that their hostel are much better than our hotel..haix. we got so sick of the chinese food by now. the dishes were the same generally. Day 7: we went shi da secondary jus to pay a casual visit, without expecting much. i guessed we were all impressed by the hospitality of the teachers and students. they were much much more friendly and polite. the students were below 14 and bowed to us 90 degree. we heard that they were trained but they really make us feel like ministers. they were simply GREAT! i just wish our twinning program was with them. Day 8: it snowed at 1am when we were in the party room playing majong and heart attack ;) joey saw the snow first and the room went chaotic when they rushed back to their room to get cameras n coat to go down n hav a look. ha.typical students from tropical country. it was nice..but very little. we went to the great wall of china. the snow made it a bit diffiult to climb but we made it to a certain height. yea! Day 9: sight seeing..shopping..the things were v cheap but i'm not really interested..spent most of my money on food. Day 10: we went back to the high school for a closing speech. mr chue made the speech. xiao xin and deborah did a good job too with their speech ;) we finally had macdonald for lunch!!! after lunch, we went straight to beijing airport. reached s'pore at 10.15pm. really missed the weather here!! we learnt a lot thru the trip but it's just so much to elaborate. perhaps i will mention it next time. photos await too.. 5:27 PM
